U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has expanded in-person interviews for employment based green card applicants. United States. The new interviews are for Employment Based Adjustment of status applications filed using USCIS Form I-485.
Previously, employment based adjustment applicants in these categories did not require an in-person interview with USCIS officers as a part if the application process. USCIS is planning an incremental expansion of interviews to other benefit types in the future.
The in-person interviews allow USCIS officers to verify the information provided in an individual’s application, to discover new information that may be relevant to the adjudication process, and to determine the credibility of the individual seeking permanent residence in the United States.
It is important to be properly prepared when attending your I-485 Employment Based Adjustment interview with USCIS. You should seek the guidance of an experienced U.S. Immigration Lawyer to make sure you comply with the new interview requirement.
