Physicists study different physical phenomena of the natural world from sub-atomic particles to the behavior of the universe as a whole to discover the laws of nature. They study the composition of matter and how the things behave. Physicists also experiment on energy and how it changes from one state to another. Their work ranges from research into the most basic laws of nature, to practical development of instruments and devices.
The work of Physicists may include studies of properties and motion of objects, properties of waves, properties of states of matter, and properties of matter and energy. Some other potential job titles of Physicist are Health Physicist, Scientist, Research Consultant, Research Physicist, Biophysics Scientist and Research Scientist.
To qualify for TN Physicist non-immigrant status, the applicant for a – profession must have earned, and is able to provide proof of the following educational requirements:
- Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree
The applicant for TN Physicist profession must also provide the additional requirements:
- Proof of Canadian citizenship;
- A detailed support letter from prospective employer;
- Proof of intent to return to his/her permanent residence in Canada at the expiration of the temporary TN stay
If the applicant is able to provide evidence of the requirements enumerated above, he/she may qualify for TN Physicist professional status.
A qualified Physicist can obtain TN Professional status for a maximum of three years. Any extension of the status may be issued for up to one year provided that the individual continues to comply with the requirements for TN professionals. The number of extensions has no limit. However, the professional must continue to demonstrate that his/her employment is temporary in nature, and that his/her NAFTA entry is not used to bypass normal procedures of immigration.
