TN Visa Biochemist

Biochemists study chemical reactions in metabolism, reproduction, growth and heredity, and they apply methods drawn from genetic engineering and biotechnology to help them in their research. They usually study the effects of drugs, foods, allergens and other substances on living tissues. They may also develop biochemical product, which is usually done by conducting research, experimenting, analysis and synthesis. They identify the physical and chemical properties of substances which can be done by performing several different analyses.

Biochemists usually work in the laboratory where they culture, filter, purify, dry, weigh and measure substances on living tissues. Some other potential job titles of Biochemist are Research Scientist, Scientist, Research Assistant, Research Associate, Laboratory Director, Analytical Research Chemist, Process Engineer, Research Chemist and Research Affiliate.

To qualify for a TN Visa as a Biochemist , the applicant must have earned, and is able to provide proof of the following educational requirements:

  1. Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree

The applicant for a TN Visa as a Biochemist profession must also provide the additional requirements:

  1. Proof of Canadian citizenship;
  2. A detailed letter from prospective employer;
  3. Proof of intent to return to his/her permanent residence in Canada at the expiration of the temporary TN Visa stay

If the applicant is able to provide evidence of the requirements enumerated above, he/she may qualify for TN Visa Biochemist professional status.

A qualified Biochemist can obtain TN Visa Professional status for a maximum of three years. Any extension of the status may be issued for up to three years provided that the individual continues to comply with the requirements for TN Visa professionals. The number of extensions has no limit. However, the professional must continue to demonstrate that his/her employment is temporary in nature, and that his/her NAFTA entry is not used to bypass normal procedures of immigration.
