What is an Entomologist for TN visa purposes?
In general, Entomologists, who fall under a broad range of professions of Zoologists, primarily focus on the study of insects. Since the population of insects is incredibly vast and diverse, entomologists often focus on a specific family or order of insects. Their careers, which range from agricultural entomology to forensic entomology, are varied. They conduct research on insect behavior, nutrition, morphology and ecology or how insects interact with animals and humans, and how they affect plants. Some Entomologists study on insect vectors of illnesses in humans or the impact of locusts on crops. They may also be involved in paleontology to learn about insect evolution, or use insects as tools for learning about particular crimes or incidents, such as in the profession of forensic entomologists. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) provides a detailed breakdown of the Entomologist profession through O*NET Online.
