As of November 18, 2011 U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) indicates that they have received 61,800 H-1B regular Cap cases have been received, leaving only 3,200 regular Cap numbers for FY2012. USCIS indicated earlier this year that there are no more H-1B Master’s Exemption numbers left for FY 2012. If you have not already commenced the H1B visa process, there may not be enough time to secure a FY2012 H1B number. Failure to secure a FY2012 H-1B Cap number could mean that the employee will have to wait until October 1, 2012 to begin work.
