USCIS Fee Increase Goes Into Effect November 23, 2010

Previously reported U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) fee increases go into effect tomorrow November 23, 2010. In addition, there will be modifications to several immigration forms, including Form I-129 for H-1B Temporary Worker visas. Before USCIS will accept petitions, they must be prepared using proper forms and be accompanied by the necessary fees. Failure to use updated fees and forms may result in a denial of your petition.

As always, before you file make sure that the petition is accompanied by the proper forms and that the appropriate fees are attached to the petition. The new filing fees  and updated forms will be accessible under the “Resources” section of our web-site.

Some notable fee changes that will apply tomorrow, November 23, 2010 are:

  1. Premium Processing will increase from $1000 to $1225
  2. I-140 Employer Based Immigration Fee will increase from $475 to $580
  3. I-130 Family Based Immigration Fee will increase from $355 to $420
  4. Petition for Fiancè(e) will decrease from $455 to $340
