USCIS Redesigns Naturalization Certificate to Enhance Security
United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Alejandro Mayorkas announced a new design for Naturalization Certificates. The redesigned certificate features the naturalization candidate’s digitized photo and signature embedded into the document. The background also features a color-shifting ink pattern that is difficult to reproduce. USCIS is now using a more secure printing process that renders the certificate more tamper-proof. The changes are being made in an effort to reduce fraud—part of USCIS’ ongoing efforts to enhance the integrity of the immigration system.
